Geek out together during Homeschool Days at Living Computers! Get hands-on with our exhibits, meet other families, and enjoy our world-famous vintage computer collection all in a day especially designed for homeschool students.

Labs and Tours

Registration for Homeschool Day Labs and Tours are filled on first-come, first-served basis (limit one Lab per student). Private Labs and Tours for multiple family groups or single co-ops can be arranged for groups of 8 or more students within in a limited age range.

Past Labs examples have included:

Rapid Simple Circuits (90 minutes)

Let’s get analog! Discover how engineers and inventors prototype all their wacky and wild electronic ideas. In this fast-paced, hands-on Lab, students 10+ years learn how breadboards work and how engineers use them to build and test simple circuits with common components. 

Intro to Soldering Workshop (30 minutes)

Learn soldering skills from real Living Computers engineers and take home one the brightest little souvenir you've ever seen. Recommended 8+ years, and must sign waiver to participate. 

Mainframes, Minis, and Micros Tour (45 minutes)

This 45-minute guided tour gives students 12+ years a comprehensive look through our one-of-a-kind collection of fully-operational vintage computers. From mainframes to supercomputers, minis to micros—experience the history of computing in all its whirring, beeping glory right at your fingertips. This is a great program for Intro to Computer Science and AP Computer Science students, and can be easily adjusted to fit course content. 

Can’t visit during Homeschool Program Days?

For groups of 8 students or more, we have a self-guided admission of $8 per student. Groups must have required chaperone ratios (1 adult to 8 students) to qualify for pricing. Reserve your group here.
